Creative, Documentary Wedding Photography

Covering UK & Destination Weddings

Questions you may have before you book your wedding photography...

What is your approach/photography style?

I'm predominantly a documentary wedding photographer and approach each wedding in a relaxed and friendly manner, preferring to blend in with the crowd so I can capture real, authentic moments of your day.

How long will you be with us on the day?

Depending on the coverage you book and average working wedding day is approximately 10hrs. I usually join you at the getting ready stage and staying with you up until just after the first dance. I aim to capture your day as it unfolds along with all of the details and emotions, ensuring you spend as much time as possible with your guests but always making time for any family formals that you'd like including and of course a little time were we can sneak off and create some stunning photos of you together.

Do you travel?

YES. YES. YES. I'm a Lancashire based wedding photographer and the majority of my work is centred in the North West but I can think of nothing better than travelling far and wide to photograph your special day and absolutely love destination weddings ANYWHERE in the world! Infact, I think the further away the better, I even have a little bucket list of places I'd LOVE to shoot a wedding, so if your getting married in Iceland, eloping to Scotland or having a beach wedding in the Maldives, to name just a few, then I'm all yours - just say the word!

Do you work alone?

I cover most weddings on my own but if you're having a slightly larger wedding or would like coverage of the groom preparations then I usually advise booking one of my second photographers for the day

What equipment do you use?

I have two Nikon bodies which I take with me to every wedding a long with a selection of lenses and flashes, meaning we're covered whatever the weather or lighting situation and in an emergency I always have a backup.

Are You Insured?

Yes. All of my equipment is covered and I have both professional indemnity and public liability insurance.

Do you have any qualifications/awards for your photography?

I sure do! You can just call me 'Gemma McAuley B.A.(Hons), PGCE' if you like ;) I also recently came 3rd and won an award at the Great Northern Wedding Awards for 'Best Female Photographer'. But most importantly, I've worked for a number of years as a documentary wedding photographer both in the UK and aboard at destination weddings and have gained vasts amounts of experience in the industry which no qualifications or awards can compare to. So you really can be reassured that you'll be in safe hands throughout any planning you may need my help with and of course your photography on the day.

What if you're seriously ill and can't make the wedding?

For peace-of-mind I'm part of an amazingly talented group of UK Wedding Photographers and in an emergency would be able to call upon them for any help.

Do you offer Bespoke Packages?

Bespoke packages are available and I'm always happy to create a package to suit you and your photography needs. Just contact me with details and I'll send you a quote for the coverage you require.

Can we meet before we book?

Absolutley. I encourage all of my clients to meet with me for an informal chat before they book, if you live further afield then we can also arrange a meeting over Skype.

We want to book, what should we do next?

Great! To book you'll need to fill in the Contact Form with details for your wedding. Once I have received this and can confirm my availability I'll forward on a booking form and contract to you which will need signing and returning to me via email. A booking fee is also required to secure your date and is non-refundable in the event of a cancellation. Please note that a date can not be saved without receipt of the booking fee.

How many images will we receive?

I usually estimate around 400+ images for a full days wedding photography, however this can vary and I don't limit the number of photographs you receive but I'm a firm believer in quality over quantity.

What happens after our wedding day...

What is the timescale for receiving my photos?

I aim to have your wedding photos ready to view online in your private gallery 6 weeks after the wedding. All images are edited to the highest standard in my signature style and are available for download, including hi-resolution images which are print ready and can be shared with family and friends.

Can we print our photos?

Yes, of course! I encourage all of my clients to print their wedding photographs and this extends to family and friends who I encourage you to share your photos with and will not charge any extra for them to have a copy of your photos should you wish.

Do you offer albums?

I offer a range of albums that can be purchased after the wedding, if you are interested in purchasing an album please ask me for more details.

How long do you keep our photographs for?

After I have delivered your wedding photos to you, i will keep your edited images (Jpeg files) for 2 years. Should you misplace your images within this timescale please contact me for a replacement copy.

Please get in touch if you have any other queries regarding your wedding photography booking or what to do next as I'm alway happy to answer any questions you may have.
