A rUSTIC FARM WEDDING IN THE LAKE DISTRICT

Elegant - Rustic - Relaxed

This rustic countryside wedding on the family farm gave me all the feels!

Set in The Lake District Nicola and Chris’ farm wedding was super relaxed with an elegant touch and rustic vibes.

Elegant church wedding in the Lake District

I arrived with Nicola at the farm on the morning of the wedding to capture her and the girls getting ready. It was such a lively start to the day that I knew instantly I was in for a treat! After lots of laughter and singing in the kitchen we headed over to St John’s church in Brigsteer – a gorgeous venue nestled on a hillside and over looking the stunning views of The Lake District. Their military wedding ceremony was super elegant with Chris in uniform and Nicola wearing an exquisite gown by Maggie Sottero, teamed with a beautiful bouquet of white flowers and foliage.

After a lovely service Nicola & Chris left church to a shower of rice confetti and headed to the local pub for a bite to eat with their nearest and dearest. We then made the journey back to the farm for guests arriving and Chris did a quick change into his tweed suit – the perfect accompaniment for any farm wedding. And I must say the farm looked absolutely amazing! Nicola had styled and created the perfect setting, with vintage bikes hanging from the barn walls, driftwood signs, a homemade bar and table centre pieces combining wooden platters of pine cones, tiny trinkets and pots filled with lavender, gypsophila and thistle, finished off with highland ribbon and a sprinkling of wooden hearts.

As the evening celebrations commenced so did the Ceilidh – no farm wedding is complete without a Ceilidh and man do I love Ceilidh bands! So much fun and dancing was had by everyone and the barn was booming. The perfect end to a perfect day…
